DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a tour of our new Pan-American Exposition inside the Museum’s State Court.  “Return to the Rainbow City: Buffalo’s Pan-American Exposition\,” recounts the story of the fair—its planning\, construction\, and legacy—and features a variety of Pan-Am artifacts\, paintings\, and photographs. The display includes nearly 100 Pan-Am keepsakes – from cups and mugs to paperweights and playing cards – that souvenir manufacturers created for the fair. Learn about the exhibits\, the shows\, and the people that drew 8 million visitors to our city.  Investigate the attractions and turn-of-the-century innovations that still impact Buffalo today. \nThe tour lasts one hour\, costs $13 ($7 for members) and includes a souvenir map guide. \nThe tour begins promptly at 12PM. SUMMARY:Junior History Buffs
DESCRIPTION:Junior History Buffs is a program at The Buffalo History Museum that engages children ages 4-9 in age-appropriate history lessons\, songs\, stories\, crafts and games. A short program\, or “Circle Time\,” is instructor-guided and includes songs\, a brief lesson about local history and a story. After this\, self-guided activities can be enjoyed by the whole family such as a craft\, interactive artifact explorations\, and games related to the exhibits. \nThis program takes place every third Friday from 10AM to 2PM\, with circle time at 10:30 a.m. This month\, we will be learning about perseverance through the life and legacy of Ely Parker\, a Civil War captain and the first Native American who led the Commission of Indian Affairs. \nThis free admission day is made possible through the generosity of M&T Bank.
